Project Summary: The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Provide new replacement code-compliant exterior stairways and enclosed stairwells at Buildings 502, 503, and 505. Improvements shall include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Stairs - Buildings 502 and 503 1) Existing fire escape stairs shall be removed and replaced with stairs that are similar in nature. Installation of new pole-mounted lighting to provide proper egress illumination. Replacement of doors and hardware as needed to allow proper uninhibited egress in the case of an emergency. b. Stairs - Building 505 1) Existing fire escape stairs shall be removed. Construct new enclosed stairways including stairs, railings, painting, egress lighting, and concrete sidewalks. Installation / replacement of doors, frames and hardware to allow proper uninhibited egress in the case of an emergency. Lead-based Paint (LBP) / Lead-containing Paint (LCP): Due to the age of the Facility, it is highly likely that the Contractor will encounter either LBP or LCP. The Facility provided the A/E with information from a test conducted for LBP on 27 October 2017 by Texas Consulting Services of Midland, TX, which indicated that the sample taken at a B503 exterior window was identified as LBP with 17.3% lead content. All Contractor operations associated with the demolition and removal or disturbance of LBP and LCP must comply specifically with the OSHA 29 CFR 1926.62 Lead standard, as well as standards already outlined the Specifications or UGC's. For complete project information, refer to Attachments H1 and H2 of Exhibit C, Project Specifications and Drawings. Project Estimate: The approximate cost for construction of the Project is $1,250,000.00.
