**As of May 15, 2023, project was awarded to Lakmann Builders, Inc., awarded amount is $3,450,356.57.** This project includes the construction of bicycle and pedestrian safety improvements along West Street from 7th Street to Eureka Way, Magnolia Street between North Street and Shasta Street and between Eureka Way and 9th Street, 7th Street, 8th Street, 9th Street, and 10th Street. The improvements include enhanced crossings, buffered bike lanes, completing sidewalk gaps, installing ADA compliant curb ramps, applying microsurfacing to West Street and installing additional street lighting, all as detailed on the plans and in these specifications. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A license at the time bid is opened. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. Failure to register prior to bid opening shall cause the bid to be deemed non-responsive and no exception will be allowed including the renewal exception allowed in Labor Code Section 1725.5 (c). No contractor or subcontractor may work on a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. Each bid shall be made in accordance with the specifications and proposal requirements thereof and no bid will be received unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City Engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified or cashier's check, or original bidder's bond made payable to the City of Redding for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid as a guarantee that the contractor will execute the contract in conformance with his proposal and the specifications. Such guarantee shall be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract.
