As of June 8, 2021 the project was awarded to Cayo, LLC with a bid amount totaling $5,704,725 as the Contractor for the Marina Breakwater and Boat Basin Dredging projects. The start and completion date has not yet been determined. The project scope of work includes: 1. Improvements to the southern portion of the breakwater adjacent to the downtown marina and McGee Beach. The pier at Bayshore Park extends from the seawall to the beginning of the breakwater. The breakwater consists of an elevated concrete cap over a rock base, eventually transitioning to an all rock section. The overall breakwater system provides wave sheltering for the marina. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, the following. a) Selective demolition of existing breakwater elements. b) Demolishing existing concrete stairs and patching concrete. c) Demolishing wooden handrails, light poles, patch concrete and concrete surface crack repairs. d) Constructing a new concrete cap on the breakwater. e) Filling Voids in existing breakwater riprap with concrete at breakwater base. f) Placing riprap to supplement the existing breakwater stone base for the new concrete cap that will be wider and higher than the original. g) Work in accordance with permit from the United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE SWG-2019-00166) for the rehabilitation of the breakwater. USACE Permit has been obtained by the city for the project. 2. Proposed improvements to the marina adjacent to the breakwater by dredging on the marina side of the breakwater in two (2) locations to restore the marina basin floor to the original dredged elevations with new dredge contours tied into the adjacent contours of the basin floor. Transport and placement of dredged material to Port of Corpus Christi Rincon B West placement area and compliance with dredge material placement plans. 1. Minority participation goal is 45%. 2.
