Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for the demolition of a laboratory facility; and for site work for a laboratory facility.
As of October 28, 2021, an architect has been selected, and the project is in design. Advertisement for bidding is anticipated to occur in early 2022. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to Carrie Hydeat hyde.164@osu.edu with the project number included in the subject line (no phone calls please). The project is located at The Ohio State University, Columbus Campus. The scope will include the total demolition of Watts Hall (2041 College Rd, Columbus, OH 43210-1178) which is physically connected to MacQuigg Hall (105 W Woodruff Ave, Columbus, OH 43210-1117). The buildings are located in the central core of campus which is highly populated.The building to remain will need to be shored and separated from Watts along with disconnection and termination of any utility and mechanical pipes that may feedthe building from MacQuigg.The scope of work to include building demolition, abatement, MEP / Electrical disconnects, site work, andshoring of building to remain.Upon completion of the demolition, the site will need to be brought to grade and seeded. The demolition will allow for future building to be erected for the Biomedical and Materials Engineering Complex. The project and construction budget as listed in this RFQ is estimated. The selected firmmust demonstrate experiencewith on-site construction phase representation.This is a critical role during this phase of the project and time management and ability to resolve and respond during this stage will be required.For projects advertised with an appropriately developed Program of Requirements (POR), upon award of the Agreement, commence with Design. For projects without such a POR, upon award of the Agreement, commence by developing the Program of Requirements.
