Renovation of a mixed-use development in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade laboratory facility; and educational facility.
Renovation of the 1st floor vivarium space and 3rd floor lab and office rooms at George Palade Laboratories (formerly referenced as Cellular and Molecular Medicine West), GPL at the School of Medicine on UC San Diego's main campus, for an incoming Principal Investigator. Additional project scope of work includes converting a single men's restroom to gender-inclusive restroom and updating existing elevator cabs to be ADA-compliant. Estimated project duration is EIGHTY (80) calendar days. Participants shall meet at the loading dock at George Palade Laboratories (GPL) Cellular Molecular Medicine Building at UC San Diego - https://maps.ucsd.edu/map/ id=1005#!m/165108. Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Lump Sum Base Bid, excluding alternates, shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, listed in the latest published State of California, Department of Insurance, list of Insurers Admitted to Transact Surety Insurance in This State. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B- GENERAL BUILDING CONTRACTOR. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. Contractors and subcontractors must use the DIR's upgraded electronic certified payroll reporting (eCPR) system to furnish certified payroll records (CPRs) to the Labor Commissioner. Contractors and subcontractors who have been submitting PDF copies of their CPRs for earlier projects must also begin using the new system. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage ($15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
