As of December 30, 2022 , preliminary design is complete; however, the project is on hold pending fundraising efforts by the City. A design firm has been selected for the project. Information regarding the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Darlington is accepting Request of Qualifications (RFQ) from Design firms employing licensed professionals, registered in the State of South Carolina, with expertise in public parks for outdoor recreation. Applicants must be knowledgeable of South Carolina regulations and laws and aware of related Federal laws for inclusion in the Design of a sports complex.
