The Town is only giving out bidding documents to bidders who are prequalified in Bridge Construction by MassDOT. Please contact the owner directly for more information. The Town of Stockbridge, Massachusetts, acting through its Board of Selectmen, will accept sealed bids from qualified contractors for the replacement of bridge No. S-26-008 (52A) carrying Interlaken Road over Larrywaug Brook, in the Town of Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Bidders must be pre-qualified by MassDOT in the BRIDGE-CONSTRUCTION category to bid on the above project. An award will not be made to a Contractor who is not pre-qualified by MassDOT prior to the opening of the bids. All work shall be in conformance with the 1988 Massachusetts Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges as amended. The work to be performed consists of, but is not limited to, the following: erosion and sediment control, temporary traffic controls, demolition of the remaining portions of the existing bridge, installation of substructure, placement of scour protective including rockfill in the stream channel covered with twelve inches of natural streambed material, temporary shoring, construction of moment slab, relocation of underground utilities, maintenance and complete removal of the temporary utility bridge, construction of wingwalls, bridge rail, full depth roadway reconstruction within the limits of work, installation of guardrail and other incidental work. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the Town of Stockbridge, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid, The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in the amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00520 CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT of these specifications. A 100% performance bond will be required of the successful bidder within (10) days following the notice of award. This check to be the property of the Town of Stockbridge if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract and satisfactory bond within ten (10) days after the contract may have been awarded to him. Attention is called to the fact that State Prevailing Wage Rates are established for the project as set forth in the contract documents The bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 working days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after the opening of bids. The TOWN reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the TOWN.
