The work includes provisions of labor, equipment and material for the removal and replacement of existing, damaged gravity sewer mains at three locations across the unincorporated area of Salida, California. Notice to Proceed will be issued in July 2021. The District will not hold a pre-bid conference prior to the bid opening date. The general prevailing rate of wages for each craft or type of worker or mechanic needed to perform the Contract is on file with the District. Bidders are hereby notified that the successful bidder and any subcontractor under that contract shall pay prevailing wage rates in performing the Contract. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, each in the sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract bid price. A Contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. Contractors must have a Class A or C-34 Contractor's License. In accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 00700-6.2, Time of Completion, substantial completion of this project shall be completed within fifteen (15) consecutive calendar days from the effective date of the Notice to Proceed and final completion shall be achieved within five (5) consecutive calendar days following substantial completion. Should work remain unfinished after the time fixed for both substantial completion and final completion, the liquidated damages shall remain One-Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per day.
