Description Of The Work: In general the project consists of the renovation of an existing building at the City of Monte Sereno City Hall site for use as a Community Center. The work to be performed under this contract generally consists of, but is not limited to, the following: interior remodeling, dry wall, electrical work, plumbing, foundation, exterior concrete and other work as shown on the Contract Plans, as specified in the Contract Documents, and as directed by the City Engineer. Additional alternative bid items will be defined within the biddocuments. Contract Time: Contract time is established as 270 WORKING DAYS. Any work remaining incomplete after the specified period shall subject the Contractor to pay liquidated damages to the City of One Thousand Dollars ($1000) per day. Contractor's License Classification and Subcontractors: Unless otherwise provided in the Instructions for Bidders, each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to sections 7000 et seq. of the Business and Professions Code in the following classification(s) throughout the time it submits its Bid and for the duration of the contract: Class A California Contractor's License. Award: City shall award the contract for the Project to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder as determined by the City from the Base Bid Alone. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process.
