Project was awarded to DDM Construction Corp. in the amount of $28,777,787.80. The City of Garland is accepting sealed bids for the construction of Naaman School Road Reconstruction (East Brand Road to State Highway 78). The project construction includes approximately 29,100 square yards of 10-inch concrete pavement, 4,200 square yards of 6-inch through 8-inch concrete pavement, 5,640 square yards of 6-inch trail pavement, 3,350 square yards of 4-inch sidewalk pavement, 21,950 square yards of bridge slab, 6,230 linear feet of 21-inch through 48- inch storm drain, 90 linear feet of 10 ft by 10 ft box culvert, 148 linear feet of 5 ft by 4 ft box culvert, 5,640 Linear feet of 6-inch through 48-inch wastewater pipe, 7,340 linear feet of 6-inch through 30-inch water line, 7 traffic signals, pavement markings, traffic signage, landscaping, irrigation and appurtenant items as applicable. The Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Cost is approximately $27.5 Million. A copy of the prospective vendors Bid Bond in the amount not less than five percent (5%) of the maximum bid price payable with recourse to the City of Garland, from a reliable surety company as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute the Performance Bond, Payment Bond and Maintenance Bond within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract, should be uploaded with this bid. A Payment and Performance Bond is being requested for this project. Sec. 2253.021.(1) & (2) of the Local Government Code states that all public works contract in excess of $50,000.00 require a Payment Bond and all public works contracts above $100,000.00 require a Performance Bond. Payment and Performance bonding will be for 100% of the total awarded contract. This ensures the Contractor will maintain and keep in good repair all work to be performed and done under the Contract for a period of two (2) years from the date of acceptance of the completed work by the City. Project duration is anticipated to be approximately thirty (30) calendar months.
