This project provides for the upgrade or replacement of sanitary sewer interceptor mains that have either deteriorated beyond repair or are no longer large enough for the increase in capacity due to population growth. The costs identified include labor, materials, outside contractors, engineering design, and all other expenses associated with the installation or replacement of the line. The project identified for 2024 is to complete the design for a new 36" parallel Rowlett Creek Interceptor line from the Rowlett Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant to President George Bush Turnpike and installation of the first segment starting at the Treatment Plant and going north to Castle Drive. The Department plans to install the line in 3 segments. This project is a recommendation in the 2019 Wastewater Collections Master Plan. This project is included in the city's fy 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program.
