The Old Ditson School - Hazardous Material Abatement and Building Demolition, 793 Boston Road, Billerica, MA 01821. The work generally consists of: mobilization and site preparation; abatement of hazardous and regulated building materials; underground storage tank (UST) removal; demolition of the school building at the Old Ditson School site, management of demolition debris, wastes and other materials off-site; and site restoration. All participants will be required to register their name and company name on the meeting start-page before being allowed to join the conference. Each BIDDER is encouraged to visit the project site (793 Boston Road) to observe existing conditions relating to construction and labor under which the work will be performed. The Bidder's attention is directed to the time of completion of the Work as set forth in the Information for Bidders. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500 per day may be assessed for each day beyond the substantial completion date stipulated in the Notice to Proceed. The Work must be completed by September 30, 2021. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety has established MINIMUM WAGE RATES for this Project (included in the Contract Documents). General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the TOWN OF BILLERICA. Deposits may be electronically paid or must be a check. This deposit will be refunded for up to two sets for general bidders upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority. Additional sets may be purchased for $50. Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 perset for UPS Ground (or $65.00 perset for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE, Inc., to cover mail handling costs.
