The Kent County Purchasing Division on behalf of the City of Lowell is soliciting bids for improvements on Amity Street in Lowell, Michigan. Work may begin on or after July 6, 2021 and all work to be completed within 60 days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed, but no later than September 18, 2021. Items of work include removing existing HMA pavement, placing and grading new aggregate base, placing new HMA, intermittent curb and gutter replacement, new A.D.A. sidewalk ramps, and related work. Work may begin on or after July 6, 2021 and all work to be completed within 60 days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. No work shall be performed, or lane closures allowed during the Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day holiday periods, as defined by the Engineer. No Bid Bond is required if a bid is less than $500,000. Inquiries Deadline Date & Time (local) 4/30/2021, 2 PM Each bid over $500,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by the Respondent and payable to County of Kent for five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds or Payment Bonds and Performance Bonds must file a certified effective dated copy of their Power of Attorney. A certified check, bank draft, cashier's check, or negotiable U.S. Government bond (at par value) may be submitted In lieu of a Bid Bond. Personal checks are NOT acceptable. Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract.
