Renovation of a library in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
All general bid questions must be submitted in writing and either emailed to purchasing@cambridgema.gov or delivered to the Office of the Purchasing Agent, Elizabeth Unger, City Hall 795 Massachusetts Ave Rm 303, Cambridge, MA 02139 not later than 4:00PM on Thursday, August 19, 2021. 1. Demolition work includes but is not limited to: a. At Roof Type A and A1: Remove and dispose of existing Asphalt Roofing Shingle Assembly: 1) Remove and dispose of all existing asphalt roofing shingles. 2) Remove and dispose of existing fully adhered ice & water barrier and felt underlayment below existing roofing shingles. 3) Remove and dispose of all existing roofing fasteners, mastic, and sealants. b. At Roof Type B: Remove and dispose of existing Asphalt Shingle Roofing Assembly: 1) Remove and dispose of all existing fully adhered EPDM. 2) Remove and dispose of all existing membrane flashing, metal flashing, termination bars, roofing fasteners and plates, mastic, and sealants. 3) Remove and dispose of all existing tapered mechanically fastened polyisocyanurate insulation. 4) Remove and dispose of all existing aluminum gutter and downspouts. . Protect existing trim to remain. d. Remove and dispose of all existing rubber pipe boot, associated mastic and fastener, typical e. Sawcut, remove and dispose portion of existing plywood sheathing at the roof ridge to accommodate for new ridge vents. f. Sawcut, remove and dispose portion of existing plywood sheathing to accommodate for roof gravity vent. 2. New work includes but is not limited to: a. At Roof Type A: Furnish and install a complete warranted Fiberglass Asphalt Shingle Roofing Assembly including but not limited to: 1) Multi-laminated Architectural Fiberglass shingles 2) Self adhering Bituminous Ice and Water barrier underlayment at the perimeter of roof, hip, ridge, and around roof penetrations. 3) Synthetic Polymer based vapor barrier underlayment. 4) Aluminum Drip Edge. 5) Seamless Aluminum half round gutter and downspouts. 6) Ridge vent. 7) 6" soffit vents. 8) Pre-manufactured self-sealing no caulk pipe boot with aluminum base. Flashing for vent pipe penetrations, abrade, prepare, and paint all cast iron vent pipes. 9) Rafter vent channel baffles at all roof rafters in attic. 11) Low dust Cellulose Blown-In Insulation, R-38 Min. for the entire attic. C. At Roof Type B: Furnish and install a complete Fully adhered EPDM roofing Assembly which includes: 1) 0.060 Reinforced EPDM membrane 2) 1/4" tapered Polyisocyanurate insulation 3) Pressure treated wood blocking 4) Aluminum Drip Edge. 5) Seamless Aluminum gutter and downspout 6) Furnish a 25-year EPDM Roofing Manufacturer NDL labor and material full system warranty with 90 MPH wind speed coverage. D. Furnish and install new Gravity vent E. Furnish and install new Gravity vent wood framed roof curb with cedar shingle siding and painted.
