Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The project involves replacing the existing 1883 bridge on the Middleboro Subdivision (MP 6.84) with new steel girders, pre-cast head- and wing walls. Contractor must show evidence of having worked on an active railroad and was able to complete the work with no impacts to railroad operations. No award will be given to contractor not prequalified by MBTA in Class 1 - General Transit Construction, Class 3 - Trackwork or Class 4A - Bridges: Steel Superstructures for a $6.5 M contract value & who's not at pre-bid. Bidders must provide the following to be considered qualified: 1. List of equipment to be used including Hi-Rail 2. Completed Bid Bond (5% of Total Bid Price) 3. List of all work in last 3 years of similar size & scope demonstrating experience and quals as described 4. List of ongoing projects and 3 references from projects listed 5. Approved FRA drug & alcohol testing plan. Questions about this solicitation must be submitted through the Q&A Electronically. **General Bid Date and time (05/20/2021 at 2:00 PM ET) in GC project This project has an MBE/WBE participation goal of 6% for the work performed under this Contract. Contractor questions also be sent via email to: chalita.belfield@dot.state.ma.us MassDOT and Owner’s consultants will provide answers to questions by 4:00 pm Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Contractor questions concerning the Bid Package are due by 4:00 pm Tuesday, May 4, 2021
