The City of Athens is seeking quotations to repair a vertical turbine pump designated Raw Water Pump #2. The pump is a Peabody Floway, 2 stage 2100 gpm with a Serial # indicating a manufacture date of 1969. The pump is located at the Athens Municipal Water Authority Raw Water Pump Station located at 3235 Impala Point, Athens TX, 75752. The selected Contractor shall be responsible for the on-site removal of the pump, performing the required maintenance off-site, then return the pump items and reassembling the unit to include the drive motor (repaired by others). A site visit is mandatory for a quote to be considered. For breach or violation of their warranty, the City will have the right to annul the agreement without liability or, in its discretion, to deduct from the agreement, price or consideration, or otherwise recover the full amount of such fee, commission, percentage, brokerage or contingent fee. The repair work shall include, but may not be limited to, the following items: 1) Initial on-site inspection of the pump, tear down, and removal of all or portions of the pump needed for rehabilitation. 2) Removal and replacement of shaft sleeve to accommodate specified brand mechanical seal. a) Provide cost as alternate to fabricate or purchase new 416 stainless steel shaft to replace the existing. 3) Clean and inspect existing stuffing and box and machine as needed to accept new seals, or provide pump specific stuffing box intended for mechanical seal. 4) Replace bearings, O-rings, and gaskets. 5) Inspect and replace rotating and stationary wear rings. 6) Dynamic balance of rotating element. 7) Reassemble and align pump and motor. 8) Pressure test pump to ensure operation at duty point. 9) Clean exterior surface to remove all grease/oil. 10) Sandblast and paint with Sherwin Williams Product SW 4003 Pallet Tan or equivalent TNEMEC product. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
