Such right of cancellation is in addition to and not in lieu of any remedies, which the City may have in law or equity. A Vendor who abandons or defaults on work which causes the City to purchase goods or services elsewhere may be charged the difference in cost of goods, services or handling, if any, and may not be considered in the re-advertisement of the goods or services and may not be considered in future solicitations for the same type of work unless the scope of work is significantly changed. SCOPE: The repair work shall include, but may not be limited to, the following items: 1) Initial on-site inspection of the pump, tear down, and removal of all or portions of the pump. 2) Removal and replacement of shaft sleeve to accommodate specified mechanical seal. a) Provide cost as alternate to fabricate or purchase new 416 stainless steel shaft to replace the existing. b) Machining of packing box as needed to accommodate a mechanical seal. 3) Clean and inspect all remaining parts and machine as needed to accept new seals. 4) Replace bearings and races, O-rings, and gaskets. 5) Inspect and replace rotating and stationary wear rings. 6) Dynamic balance of rotating element. 7) Reassemble and align pump and motor. 8) Pressure test pump to ensure operation at duty point. 9) Clean exterior surface to remove all grease/oil. 10) Sandblast and paint with Sherman Williams product: Sher-Kem, F75-LC14, 6016-49411 or approved equal paint. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS: Mechanical seal provided shall be a Chesterton 155 cartridge seal with TC/SC seal faces, or a City of Athens approved equal.
