Renovation of a detention facility in Fairfax, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

The work shall include the following: Package B - New Control Booth and associated improvements in the east building. Package C - Security door upgrades in the east and west buildings Package D - Security door upgrades in the north building Package E - Upgrade electronic security systems (new cameras, video management and recording system, detention door control head-end equipment, control stations call buttons in the east and north buildings and intercom head-end equipment. Package F - Fire alarm upgrades in the east, north and west buildings. This is a lump sum Contract. Contract length is 1,060 calendar days. Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Information for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of Ninety (90) calendar days after the opening thereof. The procedure specified under Section 2.2-4330(A) (i); VA Code Ann. shall apply: ... the bidder shall give notice in writing of his claim of right to withdraw his bid within two (2) business days after the conclusion of the bid opening procedure; .... All questions concerning the project, including bid period Requests for Information (RFI's), shall be electronically submitted in writing to the Director, Building Design and Construction Division, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, e-mail address building@fairfaxcounty.gov, and, April 25, 2022 . Bid period RFI's shall be submitted to the email address noted above using the RFI template/format incorporated into Contract Specification Division 1, Appendix A (Standard Project Forms). All bid period RFI submissions shall be accompanied by a properly filled Bid Period RFI Tracking Log also included in the bid documents posting as a standalone Excel file. This office is the only point where information will be disseminated. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County.
