As of July 20, 2021, this project has been awarded to E S Wagner Company for $2,331,625.36. Anticipated start date Sept 13, 2021. The project consists of a proposed promenade along the east shore of the Portage River with a project length of 1300 feet from the jetty at Waterworks Park south to the Bootleggers Pier. Plans include a proposed seawall with a 12-foot walkway on top of the seawall including signage, ADA ramps and features, post-construction BMPS and drainage, all of which will be part of a single general contract bid. The project shall be bid to include all labor and materials required to complete the work as indicated on the Construction Drawings. After the award of the contract let by competitive bid and prior to the time the contract is entered into, bidders shall submit the affidavit required under the Ohio Revised Code, Section 5719.042 that the bidder was not charged with any delinquent property taxes in Ottawa County, Ohio. Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in this bid packet, particularly to the Federal Labor Standard Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wages, various insurance requirements, various equal opportunity provisions. Only ODOT pre-qualified contractors are eligible to submit bids for this project. The "Prime" Contractor must perform no less than 30% of the total original contract price. Domestic steel and iron requirements as specified in the applicable provisions of Federal regulations stated in 23 CFR 635.410 and State of Ohio laws, and ORC 153.011 and 5525.21 shall apply to this project. The alteration consists of construction of an approximately 920-foot long uniform steel sheet pile wall capped with a concrete promenade, adjacent and parallel to the existing Inner East Jetty along the east bank of the Portage River within Waterworks Park.
