The proposed project consists of the demolition, removal, disposal and replacement of thirteen (13) boardwalks within the North Park and Florsheim Nature Preserve natural areas. All locations are within the Village of Lincolnshire. This project may be phased out over a 2-4 year period. All Contracts for Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12) and the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act (30 ILCS 570). The Village of Lincolnshire reserves the right to defer the acceptance of a proposal for a period not to exceed 90 calendar days after the date proposals are received and to accept or reject all proposals and to waive technicalities and to accept the proposal which best meets the needs and requirements of the Village FURNISH ALL EQUIPMENT, MATERIAL, AND LABOR REQUIRED FOR REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF ALL EXISTING BOARDWALKS AND INSTALL REPLACEMENT BOARDWALKS IN THE EXISTING AREAS AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS IN THE NORTH PARK NATURAL AREAS (1025 RIVERWOOODS ROAD, LINCOLNSHIRE, IL 60069) AND FLORSHEIM PARK (2 FARRINGTON COURT, LINCOLNSHIRE, IL 60069) This project shall include the complete removal and replacement of all existing boardwalk surface areas as identified in the locations below. This work shall include removal and replacement of decking, railing, support structure and all damaged support posts. Lumber used for construction shall be pressure treated and fasteners shall be galvanized for use with pressure treated wood. Post footings shall extend no less than 30" below existing grade and be anchored with no less than (2) 50-lb bags of quick setting concrete. Approximate width of boardwalks to resurface is 6 ft. The approximate length of all boardwalk areas varies from 32 ft. to 314 ft. Contractor may offer a repair option for each boardwalk in the schedule of unit prices which would consist of re-decking and any required repairs as opposed to a complete replacement of each boardwalk area.
