Renovation of a medical facility in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 420,000-square-foot medical facility.
This project is a comprehensive modernization of an existing 420,000 GSF hospital building in the South End neighborhood of Boston to serve as a replacement for the existing Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. The existing building consists of two interconnected buildings. Most of the building systems will be modernized in some fashion, and the remainder will be replaced in their entirety. This is a Construction Management at Risk project under M.G.L. c. 149A. Interested firms Must submit a Qualification Statement by the deadline and be prequalified if they are interested in later bidding on this project. DCAMM Certification applies for this process. This Request for Qualifications is the first part of a two-step process for Trade Contractors. First, interested firms must submit the Qualification Statement and then, at a later date, only the prequalified firms will be invited to submit bids for the category of works in which they were prequalified. This required Qualification Statement is different from DCAMM Certification. All firms must be qualified for this project, even if they are already DCAMM Certified. The Construction Manager is Gilbane Building Company. Masonry ($2,280,447); Waterproofing, Dampproofing and Caulking ($1,782,150).
