Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a swimming pool; and for site work for a swimming pool.

The project involves demolition work at the existing Borough pool, including, but not limited to, the demolition and off-site removal of the existing pool and baby pool; demolition and off-site removal of portions of the existing bath house and pump building; structural support of portions of the existing bath house and pump building designated to remain; unclassified bulk excavation including import of approved fill; disconnection and abandonment of existing service and utility lines; purchase, installation, maintenance and removal of erosion and sediment control measures; demolition of other designated site features; traffic control; construction documentation; utility coordination; site protection; and general site restoration, complete in place. All contractors who intend to bid MUST attend for their Bid to be considered as responsive. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workman's Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreement. Bids will only be considered from Bidders that are pre-qualified in the Borough of Whitehall to perform demolition projects. Bidders that are not pre-qualified to date in the Borough of Whitehall should contact James E. Leventry, Borough Manager for the requirements. All Borough of Whitehall Pre-qualification materials must be in the hands of James E. Leventry, Borough Manager, Borough of Whitehall, 100 Borough Park Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236, by Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. All Bidders that submit pre-qualification packages to the Borough for review will be alerted of their status by Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Bidders who are currently pre-qualified in the Borough of Whitehall for other work classifications will only be required to submit demolition project experience to become Whitehall pre-qualified for this project. The above dates and times will also apply for demolition project experience submittals. The Proposals must be made to the Borough of Whitehall, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and shall remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days. No Bidder may withdraw his Proposal during the sixty (60) day period without forfeiting his Proposal guarantee. Bids can either be mailed directly to the Borough Manager or delivered to the Borough of Whitehall Police office at 100 Bourgh Park Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 prior to bid opening time since the Borough offices are not currently open to the public due to COVID-19. It is highly suggested that bidders notify the Borough if bids are dropped off at the Police Department so that the bids can be retrieved prior to the designated bid opening time. Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond from a Surety authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of the Borough of Whitehall in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal as a guarantee that, if the Proposal is accepted, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within fifteen (15) days after Notice of the Award of the Contract. All Bidders shall insure that their Bid is in the hands of the Borough Manager prior to the designated bid opening date and time. No responsibility will be attached to any Borough representative for the premature opening of a Bid not properly addressed and identified or for a Bid not being received by the Borough Manager prior to the designated bid opening date and time. The Bidder is advised that the Borough will award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive Whitehall pre-qualified Bidder on the total bid submitted. However, the Bidder is advised that the Borough expressly reserves the right to reject all bids, and specifically reserves the right to award to the lowest responsible and responsive Whitehall pre-qualified bidder for the type of work being considered a contract for all or any portions of the work listed in the proposal, and in awarding a contract for less than the total work listed, or less than all portions of the work listed, the contract price will be determined from the total quantities for each item listed and the unit price bid for each item listed.
