The Port of Oakland ("Port"), Oakland, California, through the Purchasing Department, is hereby soliciting competitive bids for the above-mentioned project. The successful bidder ("Bidder") will be required to furnish all labor, material, equipment, supplies, applicable taxes, insurance, bonding (if applicable), permits, and licenses to complete this project. QA May 18, 2021 until 4:00 p.m.The Bid should be accompanied by a Cashier's Check or Bidder's Bond for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price. The cashier's check shall be made payable to the "Port of Oakland" or Bid Bond shall be made payable to the "City of Oakland, a Municipal Corporation Acting by and through its Board of Port Commissioners ("Port")". The Bid Bond accompanying the Bid shall be secured by an admitted surety company, licensed in the State of California, satisfactory to the Port. The Cashier's Check or Bond shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into the Contract (or Purchase Order) if awarded the work, and in the case of refusal or failure to enter into the Contract (or Purchase Order) within twenty (20) calendar days after notification of the award of the Contract (or Purchase Order), the Port shall have the right to award to another Bidder. If the Bidder fails or refuses to timely enter into the Contract (or Purchase Order), the Port reserves the right to declare the Bid Bond forfeited and to pursue all other remedies in law or equity relating to such breach including, but not limited to, seeking recovery of damages for Breach of Contract. Failure to provide Bid Security, or Bid Security in the proper amount, will result in rejection of the Bid. The Port reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities not affected by law, to evaluate the Bids submitted, and to award the Contract (or Purchase Order) according to the Bid which best serves the interests of the Port.
