Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Lexington, Virginia. Completed plans call for the addition of a 26,000-square-foot, six-story above grade educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; laboratory facility; and laboratory facility.

As of March 31, 2025, construction is anticipated to commence December 2025, with completion December 2027. All trades have been closed. Plans call for a renovation & expansion of the Nichols Engineering Building Complex. Nichols Hall was constructed in 1930. It was enlarged with two annexes, Morgan Hall in 1958 & Nichols Hall Annex in 1966. The three-building complex, serving civil, mechanical, electrical, & computer engineering departments, was last renovated in 2006. The existing buildings will be strategically renovated, including some new furnishings and equipment. A 6-story, 26,000 square foot new addition will also be built. As part of the project, the existing steam system in the tunnel (currently located on the side of the Cocke Hall Annex) will be replaced in full. This is a phased project and portions of the existing building will be occupied during construction. The project is subject to Virginia's prevailing wage requirements.
