Site work for a water / sewer project in Cape May, New Jersey. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work consists of conducting pre-placement condition surveys and pumping/placing approximately 364,000 cubic yards of sand from an offshore borrow area located about 2.6 miles south of the Cape May Inlet jetties. Sand will be placed at two locations: approximately 330,000 cubic yards at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center and approximately 34,000 cubic yards at Wilmington Avenue. Additional options allow placement of further quantities of sand from the same borrow area to achieve the full project design template, including multiple options for Area 1 ranging from 25,000 to 200,000 cubic yards and two 10,000-cubic-yard options for Area 2. Sand must come exclusively from the offshore borrow area, and trucking will not be permitted. All work must be completed within 110 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with no construction permitted between March 1 and August 31 due to environmental restrictions. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
