It is the intention of the Town of Franklin to contract for services to perform Road Line Painting and Street Marking on various roadways in the Town of Franklin. The epoxy marking material shall be hot applied by spray methods onto bituminous and Portland cement concrete pavement surfaces after being cleared of freestanding water by being blown with compressed air. Painted markings shall be applied by a self propelled striping machine only, equipped with a measuring device to total the footage applied by each spray gun separately. The markings shall be done in a workmanlike manner and in accordance with good practices with lines well defined and without deviation. Pavement markings shall only be applied during conditions of dry weather and on substantially dry pavement surfaces. At the time of installation, the pavement surface temperature shall be a minimum of 40 degrees Fahrenheit and rising. Only contractors having at least five years experience having completed Line Painting and Street Marking Projects for a city or town in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be considered as responsive and eligible for bidding.
