Renovation of a mixed-use development in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Design plans call for the renovation of a 97,000-square-foot municipal facility.
As of January 23, 2024, per owner, the construction is expected to start late February or early March 2024 pending City approval of the contract. The RFP for design services was awarded and is now complete and bid. *The previous closed solicitation is listed below for reference. The Municipal Building Commission (MBC) is partnering with the City of Minneapolis (City) to complete mechanical, electrical, and City office improvement renovations in selected, high visibility spaces totaling approximately 97,000 square feet at the Minneapolis City Hall/Hennepin County Courthouse facility. The work must be coordinated to achieve phased occupancies for the City. See Attachment B Scope of Services for additional information. Each design team must include a registered Architect, a registered Structural Engineer, a registered Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, a registered Fire Protection Engineer, an A/V Consultant, and a certified Cost Estimator. The Owner expects the successful team will use an Integrated Design Process engaging all disciplines early in the design process to create a comprehensive, functionally efficient, and cost-effective solution. The Municipal Building Commission (hereinafter referred to as the MBC) makes this Request for Proposal (hereinafter referred to as the RFP) in order to select a professional Consulting Firm (hereinafter referred to as the Consultant) for providing comprehensive architectural and engineering services for the work described above (hereinafter called the Project). The Project is generally described in the "Scope of Services" (Attachment B) contained within this RFP, including descriptions of roles, responsibilities and relationship of the Consultant, MBC, and the City THE ON-SITE WALK-THROUGH IS LIMITED TO ONE (1) REPRESENTATIVE ONLY of companies of the following types who plan to provide a proposal on the project: architectural and engineering firms Prospective proposers shall provide contact information at the start of the meeting and/or once joining the meeting. Questions on RFP Due by May 18, 2021 Responses to Questions posted by May 21, 2021 It is the intent of the MBC to enter this contract for a term of approximately three (3) years (anticipated to be from August 2021 to August 2024) with the option to extend the contract, on an annual basis, at the sole option of the MBC, for three (3) additional years.
