Through this Request for Proposals, the City of Vernon invites Proposals for Construction Management Services. The Professional Construction Manager will have the expertise to provide pre-construction services consisting of design review for constructability concerns, cost estimates, schedule analysis and recommendation, and procurement planning advice for early bid packages and final Construction and Revitalization of the Lakeview Pool. The City is seeking Professional Construction Management Services for the Lakeview Pool Revitalization project. The Lakeview Pool Revitalization Project plan is to rebuild the existing Lakeview Wading Pool, known to locals as the "Peanut Pool", to make it more sustainable and accessible for the residents of Greater Vernon. The sixty-one-year-old pool requires a number of upgrades to make it more inviting, sustainable and accessible to the community. The revitalization would include a complete redesign of the washroom, changeroom and mechanical building (the Amenities building) to be more energy efficient, more accessible and more accommodating to all genders. The new pool basin will include zero depth entries and handrails to provide access for users with mobility issues and a deep end, approximately four feet deep, to allow for more programs to be made available at this location. The project also includes the addition of a spray park, which offers diverse play experiences and expanded seasons of enjoyment for young park users. The spray park will include a mixture of in-ground sprays for use in the summer time and hydraulic play features that can be used April through October. The Amenities building, splash pad and hydraulic play area needs to be accessible by maintenance and emergency vehicles. Bicycle racks will be added to encourage active living and commuting.
