Site work and paving for a road / highway in Deland, Florida. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

https://www.bizjournals.com/orlando/news/2023/07/20/i-4-beyond-the-ultimate.html Jul 20, 2023 The Florida Department of Transportation has dialed up more work coming soon for Interstate 4's latest construction. FDOT opened a new auxiliary lane on westbound I-4 between State Road 429 and County Road 532 on July 19. The project is one of multiple pieces of construction for the multibillion-dollar project, which includes 20 miles of roadway to the east and to the west of the prior I-4 Ultimate project. Why this matters: New transportation infrastructure can create opportunities for contractors. Projects can also create temporary construction jobs and aim to improve regional connectivity. An eastbound I-4 auxiliary lane opened in May, and work continues on other parts of the project. Four upcoming construction projects include: I-4 and U.S. 17-92 Interchange: Changes to the Seminole County interchange include improving sight distance for motorists, upgrading sidewalks for pedestrians and reducing the speed limit to 35 mph. Work will include a new auxiliary lane on eastbound U.S. 17-92 between the westbound I-4 exit ramp and Monroe Road. Construction is projected to start this fall. Capacity Improvements to County Road 46A and Rinehart Road Intersection: The project in Seminole County will add some turn lanes and reconfigure other lanes to improve traffic flow at the intersection. Construction is projected to start this fall. Interstate 4 to State Road 528 Ramp Widening: The project will bring the westbound I-4 ramp to eastbound Beachline Expressway from one lane to two. Work is expected to start this year. I-4 at Apopka-Vineland Road Interchange Improvements: Work will include a longer westbound I-4 exit ramp to Apopka-Vineland Road, building a new loop ramp from northbound Apopka-Vineland Road to westbound I-4 as well as milling and resurfacing Apopka-Vineland Road. Work will start in the fall. The I-4 at Apopka-Vineland Road will also include part of a single westbound express lane that will be built over three separate projects from west of State Road 536 to west of Sand Lake Road. The segment that is part of the interchange project includes from west of State Road 536 to west of Daryl Carter Parkway. For 12 months ending in May, total nonbuilding starts were 30% higher than the same period in 2022, according to Do-dge Construction Network. Highway and bridge starts were up 22%. Richard Branch, chief economist for Do-dge Construction Network, said in a prepared statement that public and private construction have split in terms of how they are faring. "Public dollars are flooding into the manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, leading to significant growth over the last year," Branch said. "Meanwhile, the mostly private sectors of the building market like offices, multifamily and retail are struggling under the weight of higher interest rates, tightening lending standards and declining demand." ___________________________________________________ Segment 3 features the construction, widening and/or replacement of 25 bridges. In addition to 26 existing stormwater ponds, crews will build nine new ponds. Interstate 4 (I-4) from 1 mile east of S.R. 434 in Longwood to east of U.S. 17-92 at the Seminole-Volusia county line. As of March 2, 2023, this project is in the right-of way acquisition phase. Information regarding design team and contractor selection has not been disclosed. Construction is estimated to take place in fiscal year 2034.
