Josephine County is accepting Statements of Qualifications from consulting firms or other qualified persons who can adequately demonstrate that they have the necessary resources, experience, and qualifications to assist in planning and managing the expansion of broadband access to rural areas. Josephine County is working in partnership with the cities of Grants Pass and Cave Junction, and in coordination with the State of Oregon. The entities involved in this project have formed a Broadband Planning Committee. Josephine County is located in Southwest Oregon along the California border. The county consists of 1,642 square miles. While broadband is presently available in the City of Grants Pass and in certain rural areas, a large number of rural residents have no access to broadband. Due to the recent availability of federal and state funds, Josephine County and its partners want to significantly expand broadband access to residents. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
