Site work and paving for a road / highway in Bessemer City, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The Project Generally Consists of: Necessary roadway repairs and asphalt resurfacing of various City streets in Bessemer City, North Carolina. All asphalt removal shall have the edges saw cut straight and clean. Asphalt removed for patching may be removed by milling. All work areas shall be broomed clean of dust dirt and debris prior to application of tack coat. All areas to receive asphalt overlay shall have any vegetation properly removed and all areas treated with non-selective herbicide, per the manufacturers requirements. Any areas where existing asphalt berms exist along the edge of the existing roadway to control storm water runoff, those berms shall be replaced as reviewed by the Engineer and Owner. All existing driveways and intersecting roads shall be smooth transitions upon completing the overlay. All existing water valve boxes and manhole rings shall be flush with finished pavement. Following asphalt overlay placement, the Contractor shall properly backfill any road shoulders as necessary to properly protect the traveling public and the edge of the roadway. All soil or CABC stone backfill shall then be properly seeded and grassed as necessary. Restripe existing lines or letters.
