Site work and renovation of a civil project in Bessemer City, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
City Council will consider adopting a resolution awarding the Vantine Pump Station and Sewer replacement project to Neill Grading & Construction Co, Inc. of Hickory, North Carolina. The bid amount was $2,269,875 and the scope of work was negotiated to reduce the contract price to $1,618,525. THE PROJECT GENERALLY CONSISTS OF the replacement of approximately 2,400 linear feet of gravity sewers with 8-inch SDR 35 PVC gravity sewers, installation of 2,000 linear feet of 6-inch DI force main, installation of 18 manholes, abandonment of existing manholes, and reconnection of 36 sewer services. The project will also generally include the rehabilitation of Vantine Pump Station including two (2) 200 gpm pumps, valves, controls, electrical upgrade, and related appurtenances
