Dam Repair, Lake Creek Site 2 and Site 3 The purpose of this project is to make repairs to subject sites. Components to be repaired: Site 2 is the upstream and downstream embankment slopes, downstream seepage, drainpipe, and the principal spillway debris guard and Site 3 is the upstream and downstream embankment slopes, the principal spillway conduit, and the auxiliary spillway. Structure Site No. 2 is a single-purpose floodwater retarding structure (FRS) designed and built in 1953 and then rehabilitated in 1985. The structure is an integral part of the Lake Creek Watershed, a sub-watershed of the Trinity River Watershed. Site No. 2 is located on an unnamed tributary of the Trinity River, approximately 12 miles west of Palestine, Anderson County, Texas. Structure Site No. 3 is a Grade Stabilization Structure designed in 1950 and built in 1952. The structure is an integral part of the Lake Creek Watershed, a sub-watershed of the Trinity River Watershed. Site No. 3 is located on the unnamed tributary of the Trinity River, approximately 12 miles west of Palestine, Anderson County, Texas. This project is sponsored by the Anderson-Houston SWCD, in cooperation with the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board.
