Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Pueblo, Colorado. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a 57,060-square-foot educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and educational facility.

Colorado State University - Pueblo is soliciting the submittal of qualifications and proposals for a Design Build Team for the complete renovation and two additions to the existing Technology Building. The Technology Building was built in 1979 and later receiving a HVAC update in 2014. The 57,060 square footage facility is in need of modernization to provide a better resource to staff and students. All systems will need to be replaced. This includes but is not limited to HVAC, information technology systems, electrical, fire alarm and plumbing systems. New space configurations to support educational operations will need to be constructed. New finishes throughout renovation will be required. The majority of the space needs will be accomplished by new space configuration by renovation of the entire building plus minor additions at the AIM program and the front entrance. The first addition is for the AIM program. The addition will be located as a stand-alone building to the east which will allow the current AIM operations to be maintained during the construction. This will allow for cost savings of not having to relocate the AIM program multiple times. Also, the addition is to eliminate gas combustion odors in the existing building. This will also aid in the pursuit of LEED Gold certification for the main building. A second addition will be at the front entrance. The purpose of this addition is also multi fold. This includes: updating the appearance of the building, providing for a centrally located ADA elevator, a new grand stairway, and collaborative resting space for students would be the goal of the new main lobby on both floors. This is similar to what was accomplished in the recent CIHHI building renovation. In both the new addition and the renovation, this project will employ "LEED Gold" criteria of the U.S. Green Building Council in the design and specification of materials, energy systems, and construction processes. Spending authority for the project has been approved by the Board of Governors of the CSU System, and CCHE, and has been approved by the Capital Development Committee. Total project funding has been approved at $17,122,654.00. The Design / Build method of project delivery has been selected in an attempt to contract with knowledgeable and creative teams who can help CSU-Pueblo maximize the Owner Project Requirements within the stated fixed limit of design and construction costs. The Design Build Entity (D/B) will be responsible for maximizing operational access to all adjacent buildings, services, parking areas and roadways at all times during construction. The Design Build Entity (D/B) will also be required to provide design, and construction assistance for the relocation of existing tenants to temporary spaces, permanent spaces, and "back fill of vacated spaces."
