July 9, 2021; 2:00 PM Deadline for Bid Questions City of Fairfield will receive bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation and services necessary for the construction and completion of Gateway Boulevard Median Island Modification Project The work consists of constructing new median curbs and irrigation and landscaping for an abandoned left turn lane pocket which includes but is not limited to the sawcutting and removals of existing asphalt concrete (AC) pavement and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) curbs, island nose paving and then constructing new City Standard Type A curb to restore a full 8 inch high median curb, patching AC pavement along new curb, excavating and removal AC pavement and base rock section at old left turn lane and then furnishing and placing of clean sandy loam import topsoil for a new wider median landscape area, modifications of irrigation systems and establishment of new landscape plantings, and relocation of median keep right sign behind new median nose curb. See Special Provisions Section 30.3 for Traffic Control Restrictions required for this project. Each bid must be in accordance with the provisions of the contract documents now on file with the City Engineer, City of Fairfield, Fairfield, California, which contract documents are incorporated herein by reference and made a part hereof. Bid Guaranty and Bonding Requirements are as follows: (a) a bid guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid price must be submitted with bid proposal, (b) the successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond in the amount of 100% of total bid price Proof of compliance with insurance requirements (including certificates of insurance and additional insured endorsements) shall be provided by the successful contractor. Coverage shall be for the following amounts: (a) Commercial General Liability - $3,000,000 each occurrence, $6,000,000 each aggregate, (b) Automobile Liability - $1,000,000 each occurrence, and (c) Worker's Compensation/Employer's Liability - $1,000,000 each occurrence.
