The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents for the above-stated project. The general items of work to be done hereunder consist of removal of existing improvements including, but not limited to, asphalt pavement, aggregate base material, compacting subbase, fine grading, placing aggregate base, asphalt paving, concrete cross gutter construction and adjusting utility valves and manholes to finished surface, as well as all other appurtenant or related work as shown or referenced on the plans. Once you have signed up you will receive an email with the requested documents for download and printing.Any contract entered into pursuant to this notice will incorporate certain provisions of the State Labor Code. Compliance with the prevailing rates of wages and apprenticeship employment standards established by the State Department of Industrial Relations will be required. In accordance with Labor Code Sections 1725.5 and 1771.1, no contractor or subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work. The contract documents call for monthly progress payments based upon the engineers' estimate of the percentage of work completed. The City will retain 5 percent of each progress payment as security for completion of the balance of the work. At the request and expense of the successful bidder, the City will pay the amounts retained upon compliance with the requirements of Public Contract Code, Part 5, Section 22300, and the provisions of the contract documents pertaining to Substitution of Securities. City staff will not be available to respond to questions on the day of bid opening. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity, to accept any bid or portion thereof, and to take all bids under advisement for a period of sixty (60) days. At the time of contract award, the prime contractor shall possess a valid Class A contractor's license and/or a combination of Class "C" specialty contractor's license(s) sufficient to perform the work.
