Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Sioux City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.
As of February 24, 2022, a design engineer has been selected. This project is anticipated to go out for bid in March of 2022 and construction to start in May of 2022. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference The City of Sioux City, Iowa (City) is seeking qualified firms or teams with appropriate expertise to undertake planning, survey, engineering design, inspection, and construction management services for the West Kings Highway Bridge Replacement Project over Hanford Creek. Consultants, including the disciplines of structural engineering and civil engineering will be expected to bring practical, imaginative design, and organized solutions to the discussion and have working knowledge to facilitate right-of-way acquisition, bridge design, and utility design (creek crossing). The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. The project is located at West Kings Highway over Hanford Creek and includes replacement of the existing timber stringer bridge with a single barrel 12 feet x 8 feet precast RCB (reinforced concrete box) culvert. The new structure will include street approach paving and a sidewalk connection to Country Club Boulevard. The water and sanitary sewer carried by the bridge will also be replaced.
