[CSE 2403M/2525] Budget approximately for Avon nourishment - $11700000 Budget approximately for Buxton nourishment - $18287000 Dare County is preparing a solicitation for bids for the placement of approximately 2.2 million cubic yards of sand along portions of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore in front of the Village of Avon and the Village of Buxton. The distribution of the beach fill includes 1 million cubic yards of sand along approximately 2.5 miles of shoreline in front of Avon Village; and 1.2 million cubic yards of sand along approximately 2.9 miles of shoreline in front of Buxton Village and the National Seashore. The project will utilize sand from two offshore borrow areas located ~2-3 miles off Avon and Buxton withinNorth Carolina state waters. These borrow areas contain a total of 6.7 million cubic yards of beach quality sand. Dare County is the project Owner.
