Base bid includes installation of seven (7) valley gutters, a minimum of 16 feet in width and 6 inches thick. Bid alternate portion includes enlarging six (6) Type A-1 curb inlets to Double Type-A1, and one (1) Type-A curb inlet to Double Type-A. Inlet tops should be increased in size while inlet bottom structures remain as is. Inlet top shall be fitted with City Standard 34" ring and cover. Efforts associated with project include, but are not limited to, removal of asphalt and concrete, maintenance of traffic, excavation, removal/replacement of existing landscaping, site grading, installation of form work, concrete work, and sodding. The bidder further proposes and agrees hereby to commence the work with an adequate force and equipment within (10) consecutive calendar days after being notified by the City of Pensacola to do so; and to complete the work and testing within 60 calendar days after the commencement date set by the City of Pensacola and to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $500 for each and every calendar day used for the completion of the work in excess of that heretofore stated. Bidders shall submit a certified check or bid bond, payable to the City of Pensacola in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000) for a period of sixty (60) days. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids when such rejection is in the interest of the City; to reject the bid of a bidder who has previously failed to perform properly or complete on time contracts of a similar nature; and to reject the bid of a bidder who is not, in the opinion of the Engineer, in a position to perform the contract.
