A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Short List Meeting: July 21, 2021. 10:00 AM ET Virtual Meeting Interviews: July 29, 2021. 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM Virtual Meeting This request for proposal seeks a qualified firm for design services to renovate the Fourth Floor of the Capitol Building. The original construction of the Kentucky State Capitol occurred between 1905 and 1910 with several major renovation projects occurring at various intervals since that time. The Capitol is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and shall adhere to the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Due to the Historical significance of the Capitol, the design consultant is expected to provide evidence of experience in renovation of buildings that are of similar historic nature. The design consultant shall provide assistance to Owner for any review needed with the Division of Historic Properties and State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) will be required. The project includes an initial Programming phase as part of the Phase A for the assessment of existing conditions with full code analysis for current occupancy and potential future increase in occupancy. Programming shall be used for Phase A design options to increase occupancy for user agencie/s including more efficient use of existing space and cost estimation for Division of Engineering (DECA) budget review. As part of these initial phases, the design consultant shall create a list of space needs for the current and future occupancy with potential space plan layouts. Options shall include detailed cost estimate information. The owner reserves the right to move forward with additional phases of design dependent upon approval and funding. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
