The Galveston County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (District) is requesting bids for the replacement of approximately 2,000 L.F. of existing 18" deteriorated force main pipe with a new 12" PVC restrained joint sanitary sewer force main pipe by auger and bore and jack methods of construction. The project includes road (TxDOT) and creek crossings, pipeline crossings, steel casing, air release-vacuum valve assemblies inside manholes, abandonment of the existing 18" force main and associated work. A cashier's check or Certified Check from a Texas Bank, or acceptable Bid Bond from a reliable surety company authorized to do business in Texas, payable to the OWNER, in an amount not less than 5% of the maximum Bid price submitted, must accompany each Bid as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a Contract and execute Bonds on the forms provided in the Contract Documents. The Bidder's deposit shall be forfeited and become the property of the OWNER in the event the Bidder neglects or refuses to enter into a contract and to furnish bonds acceptable to the OWNER after receipt of Notice to Award from the OWNER. The successful Bidder must furnish PERFORMANCE and PAYMENT BONDS on the forms furnished with the PROPOSAL, in the amount of 100% of the total contract price, from a surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety.
