Site work for a transportation facility in Phoenix, Arizona. Conceptual plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
Project scope includes but is not limited to service study for the construction of a 158-mile corridor from Tucson to Phoenix. As of January 7, 2026, the project is beginning the service development planning stage. The Step 2 Service Development phase is anticipated to begin spring 2026 and is expected to require 2 - 3 years to complete. Step 2 estimate is $10,600,000. Future phases include Step 3 of the Corridor ID Program including environmental review and preliminary engineering, subject to FRA approval. Funding has not been identified for subsequent phases such as final design, right of way acquisition or construction.
