The project consists of the reconstruction/rehabilitation of the Blue Ridge Parkway (BLRI) in Sections 2M from milepost (MP) 336.39 to MP 346.88 and Section 2N from MP 346.88 to MP 359.39 including overlooks and parking areas. The project consists of the asphalt concrete pavement patches, mill and overlay, asphalt concrete pavement reconstruction/rehabilitation, drainage assessment, culvert replacement, storm drain replacement, scour/erosion countermeasure design, slope stabilization repairs, minor granite curb replacement, ditch reconditioning and rehabilitation, stone masonry guardwall(s) and steel-back timber guardrail assessment and recommendations for repairs or replacement, signing, pavement markings and other miscellaneous work. The project is located in Sections 2M and 2N of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Buncombe, McDowell, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties in North Carolina. The project will be split into multiple work schedules/contract options. The design and construction cost for the base contract plus all options is estimated to be between $55,000,000 to $65,000,000. The Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division (EFLHD), of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), in cooperation with the National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a "two phased" Design-Build (D-B) selection process. Statements of Qualifications are due on September 29, 2022 at the EFLHD office in Ashburn, Virginia.
