The Canaveral Port Authority is seeking proposals from qualified marine contractors to construct a berth at North Cargo Berth 3, Port Canaveral Florida. Question End Date 8/4/2021 5:00 PM The Work is generally described as follows: At North Cargo Berth 3, demolish the existing open pile pier and adjacent steel sheet pile wall system. Construct a new approximately 882 foot long deep combi-wall bulkhead berth with a pipe pile supported reinforced concrete relieving platform landside of the new berth wall. Project generally includes, cell fenders, bollards, shoreside and waterside mooring dolphins, earthwork and paving, stormwater conveyance system, potable water and force main wastewater utilities, high mast lighting system, fencing, and approximately 105,500 cubic yards of dredging with offshore disposal. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is a two step process. Step 1 is a Qualifications and Short-Listing Proposal process, and Step 2 is a Price Proposal process. Participation in Step 2 will be limited to Step 1 Proposers who were successfully short-listed. Project Budget is $35,500,000 (U.S. Dollars) not including alternates if any. This is a Lump Sum Price Contract with a contingency. The selected Proposer will be responsible for coordination with other construction contractors and for providing maximum support to the Canaveral Port Authority in maintaining their cruise and cargo operations at times specified by the Owner during construction. Other construction contracts are expected to be constructed simultaneously with the construction of the new cargo berth. The Scope of Services for the Proposer as part of this Request for Proposal includes all elements related to the scheduling, permitting, fabrication, installation, and testing of deep water cargo berths. It will be the responsibility of the awarded firm to coordinate their activities and schedules with the other contractors to minimize conflicts and delays. Special coordination and a high level of expectation by the Owner will be held on the selected Proposer to provide maximum coordination, support, and professionalism as multiple Contractors may require the use of the same space for construction. This Request for Proposal is a two step process. Step 1 consists of a Qualifications Package with required submittal information, which is detailed later in this section; Step 2 will be a Price Proposal, which will be submitted only by the firms that are successfully short-listed in the Step 1 process. A minimum of 2 firms will be short-listed for the Step 2 process. Preliminary information regarding the expectations for the Step 2 is included later in this section. It should be understood by all participating Proposers that the Canaveral Port Authority reserves the right to supplement, expand, and modify the Step 2 information and requirements prior to distribution in its final format to the short-listed firms. REHABILITATION, located at the West Access Channel, Port Canaveral, Florida. B. Budgeted funds for this project - $35,500,000.00 U.S. Dollars for the sea wall, dredging and cargo berth. C. Schedule for the Project will be 79 calendar weeks for scheduling, shop drawings, permitting, fabrication, installation, testing and completion of the project. D. Liquidated Damages will be assessed for non-compliance with the project Schedule.
