Mather Street Reconstruction (from Mission to Brundage) has been listed in the approved Transportation Master Plan's CIP list and Water Master Plan for completion in 2021. This project will implement a "complete streets" reconstruction of the right of way. Work will consist of new asphalt pavement and drainage infrastructure. This road has been designated as "share the road" for multimodal uses. Additionally, new water main and water service replacements and potentially sewer main improvements will also be completed. These improvements will be funded by their own Departments, respectfully. Engineering design for the project would begin in FY20 with construction being completed in FY21. Mather is identified as a Minor Collector on the proposed functional classification map. It connects a number of local, residential streets and serves as an alternative route for N. Mission and W. Lake Street. The pavement condition for Mather was identified in 2016 as having 6.5 years of service life left. This project is scheduled for FY21 based on its lower total cost than other projects so that future, more costly projects can be funded in sequentially. As of February 23, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2021-2025 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2025. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
