Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check payable to the order of the Town of Truckee, or by a bid bond executed by a corporate surety authorized to do business in the State of California in the sum of not less than 10% of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if it be awarded to that bidder. No specific bond format is required but an example bond form is available upon request. Contractor shall be responsible for complying, and for requiring all of its subcontractors to comply, with all orders and guidelines established by any government agency pertaining to protection of workers from COVID-19 infection or transmission at all times before, during, and after work on the Project, including all orders and guidelines regarding maintaining minimum physical distances between workers. To the extent that compliance with such orders and guidelines cause delays in the performance of the work, Town shall not penalize Contractor for such delays, nor shall the Contractor be eligible for additional compensation in regards to a Delay Claim with the Town. Contractor shall remain as efficient as reasonably possible while complying with all such orders and guidelines. The bidder to whom the contract is awarded by the Town shall execute a contract and furnish a surety bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price guaranteeing the faithful performance of the contract executed by a corporate surety authorized to do business in the State of California. The surety bond shall remain in force for a period of one year after final acceptance. An additional bond for 100% of the contract price shall be furnished to secure the payment of claims for labor and materials furnished for the work executed by a corporate surety authorized to do business in the State of California. No specific bond format is required but an example bond form is available upon request. All bids are to be compared on the basis of the Engineer's Estimate of the quantities of work to be done.
