Montgomery County intends to retain a qualified consultant or consulting team to provide full-time on-site construction oversight and inspection during the replacement of County Bridge 77, located on Plymouth Road over Wissahickon Creek in Lower Gwynedd Township. Construction is anticipated to commence in early 2022 and be completed within 6 months. The proposed bridge will be a single span prestressed concrete spread box beam bridge supported on concrete abutments with a span of 71 feet 6 inches. The purpose of this Contract is to ensure the project is completed on-time and on-budget, facilitate team decision-making to solve unforeseen problems in the field, interact with project neighbors and the public, and provide the County with all necessary documentation from the onset of construction through project close out in a systematic electronic format. The Requirements outline general activities, and procedures that the selected consultant is to perform throughout the construction phase of this bridge project. Construction Inspection procedures will be executed based on the Engineering Plans and specifications provided within the bid documents and as modified throughout the construction phase as a result of either field conditions or responses to Requests for Information.
