This project involves the base bid and an alternate bid for the installation of an ultra-thin bonded wearing course on roadway surfaces at several specified locations within Lower Gwynedd Township. Also included with this work is roadway crack sealing and bituminous seal coating. All material, labor, and equipment necessary shall be in accordance with Penn DOT Publication 408 and Township Standards. Asphalt materials shall be based on PennDOT's March 2024 Asphalt Cement Price Index Electronic Bids for This Solicitation and must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the Bid amount payable to Lower Gwynedd Township along with an Agreement of Surety certifying that the required Performance and Payment Bonds will be provided to the Bidder. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish proof of insurance and bonds for Performance, Payment, and Maintenance in such form as meets the approval of Lower Gwynedd Township and having as security thereon such Surety company or companies as are approved by Lower Gwynedd Township. Lower Gwynedd Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids for any cause whatsoever, to eliminate any item or items from the contract, and to waive any informality in the bids. A notice to proceed will be issued on or before Friday, July 17, 2024. The Work will be substantially completed by Friday, September 6, 2024, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 14.07 of the General Conditions by Friday, September 20, 2024.
