Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Sanikiluaq, Nunavut. Completed plans call for the construction of a 7,560-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

Work under this contract consists of but not necessarily limited to construction of a new 700 m2 single storey conventionally wood framed Hamlet Office. Foundations are steel pipe piles and CIP concrete foundations to stairs and ramps. Floor construction is combination of T&G plywood, OWWJ or TJI floor joists, 200mm steel insulated panel or batt insulation and GWB (Type X) all as called in drawings and specs. Exterior walls are a combination of prefinished steel cladding on hat track or prefinished metal siding on z girts, insulation, vapour barrier, cladding,, MW insulation, wood stud and gypsum board, all as called for on drawings and specs. Roof construction is a combination of Prefinished standing seam roof or SBS roofing to canopies, Bituminous sheet underlay, Z bars, rigid insulation, Z bars, rigid insulation, plywood sheathing and pre-engineered OWWJ’s, all as called for in drawings and specs. Interior partitions are a combination of Type X or standard GWB, wood stud, acoustic insulation or non-insulated and resilient channel or no channel all as called for in the drawings and specs. Floor finfishes are generally sheet vinyl, wall finishes are generally paint and ceiling finishes are generally acoustic tile. Millwork is included. Mechanical and electrical systems are complete and appropriate to a commercial building in an arctic environment and a full control system is called for all and as noted in drawings and specifications.
