Demolition and site work for a residential development in Greensboro, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The base bid work will include but not limited to demolition of existing building, removal of sidewalks, vegetation, paving and concrete pads Bids will be received by single prime format, by general contractors for all work. All proposals shall be based on a stipulated sum basis. Segregated bids will not be accepted. All proposals shall include the cost of all state and local sales and use taxes. All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the state laws governing their respective trades. General Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. General contractors submitting bids on this project must have license classification for general construction - unlimited (set forth the license classification required under G.S. 87-1). Electrical Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 4, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding electrical contracts Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, of an amount equal to but not less than five Percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten working days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. Each proposal must be accompanied by the documentation required by the City of Greensboro's Minority and Women's Business Enterprise program included in the project manual. Failure to include such documentation is grounds for rejection of the bid proposal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities that are deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Greensboro.
